ReDeads existed since The legend of Zelda 2. They were bodies of dead Hylians that were unable to rest in peace. But the evil Ganondorf brought them back to life as his evil guards. Eventually Link had to get through and fight them to the (Re)Death to save hyrule from Ganon's evil clutches.
But counless times Link has always been raped by them.
Ganondorf couldnt give up so he revived more spirits to take over Hyrule. But Link was able to overcome his fear to save it.
